Deepening Your Reiki Practice Through Usui’s Original Training System

A one-day immersion based on The Usui Reiki Handbook

Mikao Usui trained his students using a small group of practices designed to refine the practitioner’s inner condition. Through steady practice, these methods shaped attention, conduct, and awareness.

In early Reiki training, students worked with practices such as the Reiki Precepts, meditation, contemplation of gyosei, and self-treatment. Through these disciplines the practitioner gradually refined their condition, and from that cultivated condition the ability to help others naturally developed.

Today many Reiki practitioners have never been introduced to the training methods Usui used to develop his students. These practices formed the foundation of early Reiki training and were intended to be worked with daily.

In this one-day class we will explore these practices and experience them directly. Rather than discussing them only in theory, you will work with the methods Usui taught his students and learn how they can become part of your own daily practice.

What You’ll Learn:

During this workshop we will explore the core practices Mikao Usui taught his students,
including:

• The role of the Reiki Precepts in shaping attention and conduct
• The meaning of kokoro, the integrated condition of thought, emotion, and body
• Reiki meditation (jyoshin kokyu-ho) and its role in stabilizing the practitioner
• The contemplative practice of gyosei, reflecting on the poetry of the Meiji Emperor
• The role of self-treatment in integrating Reiki into your own body
• Several treatment methods described in Usui’s teachings
These practices form a coherent system that gradually refines the practitioner and supports the
ability to help others.

How the Day Is Structured?

Morning Session

In the morning we explore the foundations of Usui’s training system and the meaning of kokoro. Through guided exercises you will observe how thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations function together as a single integrated field of experience.

Afternoon Session

In the afternoon we will practice each of the training methods Usui taught his students, including meditation, contemplation of gyosei poetry, self-treatment, and several treatment methods. The goal of the class is not simply to learn techniques, but to experience how these practices gradually refine the practitioner.
