The Blue Earth Project

A Reiki Practice of Healing, Reconciliation, and Hope

In a time of conflict, division, environmental concerns, and a constant stream of troubling news, many Reiki practitioners find themselves asking the same question:

What can I do?
The Blue Earth Project offers a simple Reiki response.

Created by Reiki Master Marta Getty, the Blue Earth Project invites practitioners to hold a small blue marble representing Planet Earth and offer Reiki with a simple intention:

“I direct this energy of Reiki to heal and reconcile Planet Earth and all its inhabitants.”

This practice is not about fixing the world by force. It is about joining with others in Reiki, restoring relationship where separation has taken root, and offering healing, reconciliation, and hope.

Why Reconciliation?

Most Reiki practitioners are familiar with sending Reiki to people, situations, and places in need of healing.

The Blue Earth Project adds another dimension:

Reconciliation.

Healing helps restore wholeness.

Reconciliation helps restore relationship.

Today we see separation everywhere:

  • between nations
  • between political groups
  • within families
  • among communities
  • between humanity and the Earth itself

The Blue Earth Project invites us to offer Reiki wherever separation exists and support the possibility of renewed relationship, understanding, and connection.

About the Blue Earth Practice

The practice is simple.

Hold a blue marble representing Planet Earth.

Connect with Reiki.

Offer Reiki with Marta Getty’s intention:

“I direct this energy of Reiki to heal and reconcile Planet Earth and all its inhabitants.”

Practitioners may practice individually, in pairs, or in groups.

Following this introductory meeting, NYC Reiki Center hopes to establish an ongoing Blue Earth practice community where students can gather regularly to support one another and offer Reiki together.

The Story Behind the Project

Marta Getty

Marta Getty (1945-2020) studied directly with Hawayo Takata and became an internationally respected Reiki teacher, author, and speaker. Known for her warmth, storytelling, and innovative approach to Reiki practice, Marta created the Blue Earth Project as a simple way for Reiki practitioners to offer healing and reconciliation to Planet Earth and all its inhabitants.

“The future holds possibility and change. We each contribute to the building of the bridge, though it never finishes.”

Today, the Blue Earth Project is carried forward by Chiara Corte and Raymond Brockotter, who continue to share Marta’s vision of healing, reconciliation, and service through Reiki.
